Temperature Controllers

Like the name suggests, a temperature controller is used in various processes to control the temperature. The temperature controller operates by comparing a temperature sensors signal with its set point and calculates the deviation between those values. The controller’s output is connected to an element such as a heater or cooling water installation.

To accurately control the temperature of the process without extensive operator involvement, a temperature control system relies upon a controller, which takes a temperature sensor such as a thermocouple or RTD as input. The temperature controller compares the real-time temperature to the desired control temperature, or setpoint, and provides an output to a control element. The controller or thermostat is one part of the entire control system.
