Clamp meters

A clamp meter is an electrical test tool that combines the best of both worlds. The clamp meter is a basic digital multimeter with a current sensor. So two tools in one.

Clamps measure current such as AC current, AC and DC voltage, resistance, continuity, and, with some models, DC current, capacitance, temperature, frequency, etc.

Clamp meters are recognizable by their distinguished hinged jaw. This allows users to clamp the jaws around a wire, cable, or other conductors at any point in an electrical system and then measure the current without disconnecting it. They are extremely popular for safety reasons; they are convenient to use, identify issues when installations occur, and cost-effective for ongoing tester, maintenance, and service requirements.

GMS Instruments is an official distributor of Extech Instruments clamp meters and provides both the product as the technical support of the clamps.

Why use a clamp meter?

Created as a single-purpose test tool, modern-day meters offer more measurement functions, greater accuracy, and sometimes specialized measurement features, as well as the most basic functions of a digital multimeter, such as the ability to measure voltage, continuity, and resistance. The clamp meter gives you everything within one tool.

True RMS (TRMS) clamp meter gives you a more accurate and precise measurement of AC-, DC-, of AC-DC current.
